I know this is incredibly obvious but it needs to be said.
The best way to partner with parents is to get them involved with the kids ministry program.
In other words use your KidMin program to disciple the parents.
When we launched small groups for kids at our church it was a major undertaking.
We had 600 grade school kids on the roster at three Sunday morning services.
I wanted 10 small groups at each service so I needed 30 small group leaders and 30 assistant leaders and I was starting with zero small group leaders.
It took about nine months but eventually we did get our 60 small group leaders
One month during our small group training I was going around the room and asking the question, “What do you get out of this ministry?”
The response I heard the most was, “This makes me a better parent.”
Then it hit me.
I didn’t just start a small group ministry for kids. I started a parent ministry.
I have 60 parents that I am training to minister to kids.
I find that most parents do not know how to preach to kids. Maybe they tried to do devotions once and their kids got bored.
After teaching other people’s kids they gained confidence that they could teach their own kids and they are doing it at home.
My point is, you may not need to start a ‘Family Ministry’ to “Partner With Parents”.
Simply leverage your kids ministry for that purpose.
