Recruiting

What’s on your mind about?

Recruiting //

  1. @jcisonline ask and you shall receive volunteers. If you don’t receive then cast vision, if not then bribe 😉
  2. @stocksohio Minister to & love your volunteers. Let others see that #kidmin is an area where you get a lot more than you give
  3. @Yelruh You dont have 2 worry about bringin the same kids back from a trip, just the same number
  4. @gregbaird Don’t “recruit”..relate! Ministry (inc “recruiting”) is built on relationships
  5. @funnymandan Start a campaign “Become Holy” and have it sponsored by Krispy Kreme
  6. @nerdfeliz Give your volunteers free t-shirts and free food. (Well, it works with Google.)
  7.  @SavedSister7 have a lasertag event – call it “TAG! You’re IT!”
  8. @gregbaird The most basic part of recruiting: personal invitation. Too often we don’t personally ASK
  9. @samluce Dress up as a usher tell the other ushers how much it stinks being a usher and we should start working in #kidmin instead!
  10. @Danielbwhite Don’t just recruit your volunteers & only see them on Sundays. But live life with them & they will stick.
  11. @gregbaird Lead recruiting efforts w/a grand vision of changed eternities … nothing less!
  12. @kidinspiration Appreciate people beyond what they contribute to the team.
  13. @funnymandan Create an online Church Serving Skill test and rig it to at the end to always suggest the kids ministry
  14. @samluce Try to fit the names of your best vols. Into worship songs “Bill I lift your name on high”
  15. @gregbaird Recruit primarily to strength of potential volunteer, not to perceived need of ministry
  16. @kidinspiration Delegate authority, not just responsibility.
  17. @gregbaird Always have plan B. Recruit those willing/able to “pinch hit” & have program tools in place
  18. @samluce Make working in kids ministry fun for kids AND volunteers.
  19. @johnsonrn Have vols 2 recruit sum1 they know 2 help them. ths produces more & better vols than other methods tried.
  20. @stocksohio In the spirit of stadiums, rename parts of #kidmin after vols. “Let’s move over to the Jane Q. Doe puppet stage!”
  21. @funnymandan Every now and then Feed Them. You will never know how much that means to volunteers.
  22. @jeffhawkins give your volunteers something to do! Do you think they want to sit w/a buncha kids, hearing you tell kiddy Bible stories?
  23. @funnymandan Before your service be holding a huge bunch of balloons & give them to someone not yet serving & walk away.
  24. @funnymandan My Princess adds in “Put some children’s testimonies on dvd to inspire potential leaders.”
  25. @funnymandan Plant 1 person in all the other ministries with bad body odor, so the greatest smelling place 2 be is kids
  26. @jeffhawkins Buy energy drinks for anybody that wants to help, you won’t know what to do with all the people that show up!
  27. @theresahaskins Some of these posts are cracking me up…how about love THEM as Christ loved the Church.
  28. @hthiew Find them first, share vision but ensure vision is compelling & worth living for. They discover its worth dying 4 one day
  29. @stocksohio Create such buzz that#kidmin is the most exciting area of the church, & no one will want to be anywhere else.
  30. @dustinaagaard make it hard for people to get in and hard to get out, not the opposite.
  31. @samluce Prayer – A huge part of recruiting is asking God to do the things only he can do.
  32. @stocksohio Remember that a big part of#kidmin is actually ministering to adults (as in your volunteers and parents).
  33. @funnymandan Get a large group of people to walk around after church saying “lets go!!!” and have them all come to your
  34. @funnymandan Send an email every hour @ potential leaders & at the bottom write “to opt out please see me during a #kidmin service
  35. @thejaymart  “Prophesy” over random people that God is calling them to work in #kidmin (true story lol)
  36. @funnymandan Do what @kidinspirationdid. Have another son 2 become a future leader in the#kidmin. It takes a while but works.
  37. @SavedSister7 Make the time to invest in the lives of your volunteers. Know what’s happening. Ask & listen.
  38. @mattmckee People like to volunteer with friends. Grab a friend and help us out.
  39. @mattmckee We don’t let men change diapers. What’s your other excuse?
  40. @kennyconley Step 1: Make a list of people you plan to ask to work with the kids. Step 2: Have someone hold you accountable until you ask everyone on the list. Step 3: Make a new list.
  41. @mattmckee Big hairy goals require a team. Most jobs require one person.
  42. @gina_mcclain People want to be part in the winning team. Act like you’re winning, even if you’re not.
  43. @gina_mcclain Assume people want to be a part of something bigger than themselves.
  44. @jonathancliff The key to recruiting volunteers is knowing where you need them.  Having something in mind, before even starting the conversation is key.
