I Am A Minister To Children

Global/Missional / Leadership / Personal Development / Trends //

During this school year, I am leading in the position of President for C-MAG (the Children’s Ministry Awareness Group) here at Moody Bible Institute. The purpose of C-MAG is to Educate, Equip, and Engage the student body regarding ministry to children. I am very excited about C-MAG because it exists to plan events and bring in high quality speakers who can help the students learn about ministering to children.

A part of my commitment as President for C-MAG is to make sure that everything we do is beneficial for students and that every event is a quality event. Even though it is still the beginning of the school year, I have already had great opportunities to talk to students about ministering to children, and our leadership team is making exciting plans for the year. While I can’t let the cat out of the bag just yet, let’s just say that we will have some awesome training events and speakers this year. We’ve already made a great video entitled “The Calling” to emphasize the importance of ministry to children:

We’ve also shown a video lately that tells the story of modern children today (can you guess before watching it how many people accept Christ between the ages of 4-14?). It’s called “It’s Time to Wake Up”:

Children matter. In fact, D. L. Moody once said that he led 2.5 people to Christ. When asked if he meant two adults and one child, he replied “No, I meant two children and one adult.” Children have their whole lives in front of them, while adults are already halfway through their lives. Everyone needs the gospel, but we would be fools to think that children matter the least to God.

“Now they were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them. And when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.”   -Luke 18:15-17

Friends, will you join me in this mission of sharing the gospel with children? Will you strive with me to disciple children, to put your wants and desires aside in order to get down on a child’s level and speak truth into their life, and letting the Holy Spirit transform their life?

I am a minister to the largest mission field in the world. I am a minister to children. Are you?
