5 More Classroom Management Tips | Training Tuesday

Five more classroom management tips for your Sunday school or small group environment

  1. Keep moving during instruction and transition time (children need to wiggle and move, and make transitions smooth and deliberate)
  2. Catch kids doing something good, instead of doing something bad (encourage kids when they display good behavior rather than always getting on to them when they are bad)
  3. Use some non-verbal techniques for getting kids to quiet down (i.e. hand clap, turning off the lights, or raising of the hand)
  4. Have fun in your classroom (make your classroom a positive, engaging place where kids want to be)
  5. Change things up a little bit (do the unexpected, change the pace, be spontaneous, keep kids guessing)
